Q: Is the brass processed / what does "once fired" mean?
Our brass is mixed head stamp with no particular weight to one manufacturer or another. May contain both brass and nickel plated. Whatever people are shooting at the range is what you will get. Our brass comes to us directly from shooting ranges and is sorted by caliber and inspected for visible damage. We recommend inspecting all cases before loading. We always include extra cases to provide for any errors during sorting. We do our best to ensure all brass shipped is the correct caliber, but their is an error factor re: nested cases, similar size cases that have mistakenly been sorted together, etc. A reason we include extra cases in every shipment. Please check all brass before loading, we are not liable for any damages incurred in the loading process. There is never a 100% guarantee that the brass is once fired. Though the common industry term for used brass is “once-fired brass,” the reality is that a case may actually have been fired multiple times. Generally, used brass can be categorized into one of three categories: range brass, once-fired brass, and bulk brass. Each of these categories have their own unique characteristics, but none have specific definitions, so you may find that they overlap. It is important to determine how your supplier refers to them in order to select the right brass for your reloading needs.
We do our very best to take out all steel, aluminum, & Berdan primers, but some does get by us. That is why we include extra brass with everything shipment.
For liability reasons, we cannot except returns due to customer error. If our error, we will make our best effort to resolve any issue.

Q: When do you ship and what is your return process?
We aim to ship via USPS Priority Mail within 1-2 business days. All sales are final, we cannot know that the brass has not been tampered with once it ships and is received by the customer. For liability reasons, we cannot except returns due to customer error. If there is a problem with your brass or an error in shipping, please contact us immediately. All orders are tracked and you can track your order online.
Q: Do you sell in larger quantities?
We do sell in commercial quantities of 500 pounds or more. Please contact us to check on availability.
Q: Do you source or sell your brass outside of the US?
No, we are proud that all our brass is sourced in the USA and stays in the USA.
Q: Why do you charge sales tax when I'm not in California?
There are 2 answers to this which many on-line businesses in our industry are not following and can become liable for.
- Most states have a destination-based sales tax. Each sale is considered to take place in the jurisdiction where the product is ultimately used -- where it’s shipped or picked up from.
- We source our brass from throughout the US. This creates a "nexus" in states other than California-- if we purchased any product from your state, it is then subject to your sales tax laws and we are obligated to collect that other state's sales taxes and file a sales tax return there.
Q: Why is your only shipping option USPS Priority Mail?
We have found USPS insured Priority Mail to be the most economical and reliable method of shipping. We would love to use “Media Mail” or “1st Class Mail”, or similar to save money, but the post office doesn’t allow this for the weight of the packages we ship. Thus the bulk of the time they catch the packages and leave you a note of postage due. The national carriers like UPS and Fedex are in our experience even more costly once you factor in residential delivery, weights and bulk of boxes, etc.
